Armstrong Associates, the award-winning tri-counties based general contractor, has completed the construction of the temporary buildings and utility installations that have made it possible for the Vista del Mar Hospital in Ventura to resume the inpatient care that was suspended when the Thomas Fire burned half of the mental health facility’s campus.

“The fire displaced dozens of patients who were in treatment at the hospital that provided three-quarters of the mental health inpatient care beds in Ventura county,” said Armstrong Associates founder and CEO, Earl Armstrong, “ And was especially difficult for teens since the hospital was the only inpatient facility in the county to offer mental health services for adolescents.”

After the fire, Armstrong Associates coordinated the cleanup and removal of tons of debris from the structural loss of the buildings and then rebuilt the interiors of temporary modular buildings that were placed on foundations at alternate building locations on the property overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Vista del Mar Hospital offers specialized units for Adult and Adolescent stabilization and safety and has earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital Accreditation©. In addition to crisis stabilization, the acute psychiatric facility offers a Dual Diagnosis Program designed to serve patients with mental health diagnoses and co-occurring chemical dependency. Treatment on the Dual Diagnosis Unit may also include medically supervised detoxification. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan and comprehensive aftercare plan to help ensure success upon discharge. The Military Support Program offers treatment for active duty military members and Veterans. The program specializes in Posttraumatic Stress and Military Sexual Trauma using evidenced-based treatments that are approved by the Department of Defense and the VA.
